Application Process

You have spent hours researching all of the options available to you and you have finally decided on your perfect choice! With so many destinations and projects, that’s the hard bit done!

 Now that you are ready to take the next step, all you need to do is apply for your placement. Although this may seem a little daunting, we have made the application process as straightforward as possible, and it is broken down into 6 easy steps – detailed further below.

Don’t forget, we are always on hand if you have any questions or need any help. Our U.K team volunteer on each and every programme we offer on a regular basis, so if you have any questions about the destination, the programme or still need help deciding, please do get in touch!

 Unlike most organisations, there are no hassling sales pitches or telephone interviews. We welcome everyone that is happy to bring a can-do attitude, willing to work hard and who can contribute lots of positive energy. However, please double check the age, education and language requirements for your chosen volunteer programme before applying.

Step One

Starting Your Application

You can start the application process by navigating to the programme you wish to apply for – the easiest way to do this is to click destinations, then the country you are heading to and then finally click more information on your chosen programme. Once on the programme page, you just need to click one of the several “Apply Now” buttons.

Step Two

Applying

The application process will take around 10 minutes to complete. You will need to pick the dates you wish to go as well as enter some information about yourself. We like to get to know as much about you as possible so we can personalise your trip. Although not mandatory, we ask that you provide detailed answers for the questions that we do ask. These include what you are hoping to gain from volunteering and if you have any relevant experience that may help.

Step Three

Optional Extras

During the application you will be able to select organised weekend trips (if available), choose your very own The Mighty Roar t-shirt as well as opt for our recommended travel insurance provided by Endsleigh. If you are unsure about any of our optional extras, then don’t worry, you can easily add these on at a later date through your My Trip account.

Step Four

Review and Confirm Your Place

After you have completed all of the required fields and selected any optional extras, it’s time to review and ensure everything is correct. Take a minute or two just to double check everything before confirming your placement. To confirm your volunteering journey, you just need to click submit application. This will direct you to the payment page that is hosted by a third-party payment provider (Stripe) where you will be able to pay for your registration fee using all major debit and credit cards.

Once you have paid the registration fee your application will be submitted. You will receive an automated email from us (generally within 20 minutes) and this will provisionally confirm your place on your chosen programme.

 Our team will ensure they get everything processed and sent over to you within a timely manner, but please allow up to 48 hours. In the unlikely event that we are unable to offer you a place on the programme then any monies paid will be refunded in full.

GVOLUNTEER PROGRAM COST

Global impact volunteers seeks to give students those who are taking a gap year to travel anyone who wants to have a life changing experience who want to impact other lives the platform to make a difference in the lives of others with their skills and innovative ideas whilst they also learn from other cultures.
  • Airport pickup upon arrival
  • Transportation to the project site on the first day
  • Meals – breakfast, and dinner every day (Lunch when necessary)
  • Arrival orientation
  • Pre-departure information
  • A sim card for communication
  • Accommodation & Utilities
  • Donation to orphanages and schools
  • 24/7 in-country support and contact director Michelle Harris in the UK
  • Documents and assistance for visa application
  • Letter of recommendation and/or certificate of participation after completion of the program.

To keep the overall cost down, volunteers are responsible for obtaining various items before departure. We will assist as needed to help volunteers obtain the following items at their own cost:

 

  • Travel medical insurance (including emergency evacuation coverage)
  • Visa to Ghana
  • Required vaccinations.
  • Airline ticket

PROGRAM FEES

Volunteer service can range from 2 weeks to 3 months. Program fees vary based on the length of the volunteer stay and placement. A non-refundable registration deposit of £150 as administration fee. Under no circumstance will a volunteer be asked to pay any additional fee upon arrival in the country after paying the required amount.

Volunteers, whilst in the country may apply for an extension of the program which will be agreed After that, the volunteer pays the required extra fee to tally with the length of stay extended. A non-refundable deposit of £150 will secure project placement and process.

The rest of the program fee can be paid upon arrival or before arrival.

ACCOMMODATION

Volunteers will stay in a volunteer house which is safe and secured the coordinator will also be staying in the house with volunteers to ensure they are happy safe and can assist them at any time adapt and know the Ghanaian culture and that of the community volunteers will be volunteering.

Michelle Harris the director has volunteered at each  programme we offer so we can truly tell you what to expect, she has stayed in the accommodation, carried out all volunteering tasks, tasted the meals and travelled the nearby areas. Not only does this allow us to answer any of your questions, but we can also ensure that everything is enjoyable and most importantly safe.
