Volunteer Director

Michelle Harris is an energetic young woman with strong passion for the less privileged with particular attention on children with additional needs. Michelle has been a registered social worker for the past 15 years in the U.K, working with vulnerable children and families. She has extensive experience and passion to help families in need. Michelle wanted to experience life on the other side of being a social worker in the U.K.

Michelle volunteered in Ghana where she worked in school and orphanages and had the opportunity to serve the community and make a difference in the lives of many children and adults. Michelle built fantastic relationships in Ghana and has excellent connections with a variety of schools orphanages and would like to make your volunteer experience life changing. Michelle has over 15 years experience working with children and families and supporting to meet the needs of young people and families. Michelle is a Registered Social Worker with Social Work England. She possesses vast experience in the following areas:

  • adult , children and adolescents’ services
  • safeguarding procedures
  • report writing
  • working as a support worker in different settings
  • advising family caregivers
  • participating in multidisciplinary meetings
  • liaising with multiple agencies involved in a looked after young person’s life
  • consulting with doctors, therapists and medical professionals
  • communicating with non-verbal and verbal service recipients Michelle has a strong desire to make a positive difference in young people’s lives.

Her roles within the various communities that she worked with have aided her to acquire a high degree of accuracy; integrity and the ability to lead and contribute well to a team. Subsequently Michelle is able to identify the needs and challenges that children and families for disadvantaged homes encounter on a day to day basis. Michelle has highly developed interpersonal skills and strong professional relationships with clients, families and community groups.

Gideon Mensah

Coordinator

I am a volunteer coordinator and a manager. I do manage the day to day activities of volunteers, their placements, tourism etc. I have been working as a coordinator for the past 4-5 years.
As a Coordinator I play a crucial role in ensuring that travel plans run smoothly and that volunteers have a positive experience. I ensure volunteers have a detail-orientation.
As a Coordinator I am responsible for organising and coordinating travel arrangements for individuals or groups within an organisation or for clients of a travel agency. This role requires attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a good understanding of travel logistics.
My duties consist of supporting youth in their academic and football endeavours, which includes coaching and teaching, working on immigration, application, and visa documentation for athletes and students and mentoring children.

Godfred Mintah Wiafe

Coordinator

Godfred is a Bachelor degree Holder in Integrated Community Development from University for Development Studies and also has Diploma in Theology from Living Faith Theological Seminary. With experience working at Wiafdalas Enterprise Limited as a supervisor with major responsibilities as business developer and implementation and evaluation of development initiatives.
My third Trimester Field Practical Programme in identifying Community challenges and problems, collecting of data for analysis gave me the opportunity to work with diverse people from various communities in Ghana.
The knowledge I gained with Empowerment Aid Organisation will provide me the platform to exercise my full potential in accordance with my competencies, capabilities in Global impact volunteers.

Emmanuel Arthur

Media Manager

Emmanuel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology from Ghana Communication Technology University. He has gained valuable experience working with Hassanco Trading Company Limited and CodeWeb Company Limited as a Systems Administrator and Developer.

With over three years of hands-on experience as an IT Specialist, Emmanuel has developed strong expertise in Windows Server administration, hardware and software configuration, network setup, and database management. He has a solid track record of delivering IT solutions in collaboration with both onshore and offshore teams to support diverse client needs.

Emmanuel is skilled at analyzing technical challenges and identifying the best solutions tailored to user requirements. His background and technical knowledge provide him with the tools and confidence to contribute effectively to Global Impact Volunteers, applying his full range of skills in support of the organization’s mission
